Nature Knows Better ...
8th INTERNATIONAL GREEN ENERGY CONFERENCE
Kyiv/Ukraine, June 17-19, 2013
Call for Papers:
Bioenergy Association of Ukraine has announced
analytical materials in sphere of bioenergy
development in Ukraine.

Third position paper of UABio
Third position paper "Barriers to the development of bioenergy in Ukraine"  was published by
Bioenergy Association of Ukraine.
UABio's Position Paper N3 is a regular document of the planned series of publications on key
issues of bioenergy development in Ukraine. In the Paper, the main obstacles hindering the
development of bioenergy in the country are identified and analyzed. We have considered the
basic mechanisms of stimulation of bioenergy in the EU, analyzed whether the mechanisms are
available in Ukraine and suggested some possible ways to overcome the existing barriers.

Second position paper of UABio

Second position paper "Analysis of the Law of Ukraine "On amendments to the Law of
Ukraine "On Electricity N5485-VI of 20.11.2012" was published by Bioenergy Association of
Ukraine.
Present Position paper #2 by the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine is the next document in a
series of planned publications on major issues of bioenergy development in Ukraine. The
paper is dedicated to the analysis of the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Law of
Ukraine "On Electricity" concerning stimulation of power generation from alternative energy
sources" (N5485-VI of 20.11.2012). Mentioned law, from our point of view, creates a number
of significant barriers to bioenergy and other renewable energy sources (RES) development in
our country.

First position paper of UABio

First position paper "Position of bioenergy in the draft updated Energy Strategy of Ukraine till
2030" was published by Bioenergy Association of Ukraine.
Present position paper shows that the lines of development of Ukraine`s energy sectors
proposed by the updated Energy Strategy till 2030 are opposite to the trends in the EU's
energy. Inter alia, the share of renewable energy in Ukraine`s total energy balance is 6 times as
less than in the EU. By 2030 the situation will be only a bit better, and Ukraine will have this
index 4.4 times as less than in the EU.
The authors are of opinion that the targets regarding bioenergy sector set in the updated
Energy Strategy of Ukraine till 2030 must be cardinally revised and increased. In particular, it
is recommended to include in it the figures on biomass contribution to the total energy
consumption, with biomass share of 10% in 2030.
During 25 - 28 of February 2013 the 4th Ukrainian Energy Forum 2013 will being
held: The meeting-place for the Ukrainian and international energy communities.
Here are just some of the highlights of the Ukrainian Energy Forum 2013:
